VPHCS joins St. Scholastica’s Academy medical mission

The Visayas Primary Health Care Services, Inc. joined the 50th year Jubilee celebration of the St. Scholastica’s Academy in Tabunok, Talisay City by sending a team of doctors and nurses to serve in the medical and dental mission held last September 21.

The school which is administered by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing launched its 50th Jubilee on July 19, 2014. 

The mission served beneficiaries of its adopted areas of Sitios Mananga, Anadol and Sitio Fatima in Tabunok. 

The Southwestern College of Dentistry also sent its clinical instructors and dental students headed by Dr. Paciencia Belarmino. 

Services included medical consultations, tooth extraction, fluoride solution application in teeth, blood sugar testing, dispensing of free medicines and fitting and giving of eyeglasses.

Sr. Mary Nicole C. Garcia, OSB, CIP Coordinator coordinated with the VPHCS and dental teams to ensure the success of the mission.

The medical team included Dr. Ben Limhong, Dr. Senny Marie Zamora, Dr. Irish Rosal, Dr. Narciso Bernales, VSMMC PGI Rialyn Rojo, Jea Llanos, and Ed Levi Amarillo, and CIM medical intern Giancarlo Bascon. Optometrist Dr. Marilyn Dayrit fitted and dispensed eyeglasses. Nurses Paul Serad, Jennifer Amaro, Jessica Pausta, April Fandialan, Chary Lou Garcia, Michelle Sarabia, Susana Lynsy Ardona, Vernon Estrera, and Mark Balingit and pharmacist Stephanie Balingit also provided their services. The VPHCS team was headed by Dr. Erlinda Posadas.
